Sit down on the edge of your dining room chair.
Legs together.
put rod behind knees with stuck ferrule at the imagined midpoint (where your legs come toether.)
grip rod with eah hand next to its corresponding knee.
move knees apart, not using your arm strength, just legs.
lube rod with parrafin once unstuck.
check paraffin often for dirt.
