Okay... I find hard to bring myself to fish size 18-20 flies on 4 or 5x for steelhead. To much run & play time after you hook them. Just My .02
Anyway,- that's whats taking the fish on the Feather lately. FRG

I caught several fish in one hole last year with size 18 copper johns on 4X tippet stuck in the lip. I'm sure the owner of these flies parted company with them shortly after hooking the fish! Those flies went into my trout box!

Hey Craig,
My biggest steelie ever was taken on a size 18 Baetis nymph. It was tied on a #18 Mustad 3906 which is closer to a #20 in Tiemco hooks. The finished bug was definitely closer to a #20 then a #18. Get this... I had it tied to 2x! No kidding! The knot was almost as big as the bug.
