Hey Craig, My biggest steelie ever was taken on a size 18 Baetis nymph. It was tied on a #18 Mustad 3906 which is closer to a #20 in Tiemco hooks. The finished bug was definitely closer to a #20 then a #18. Get this... I had it tied to 2x! No kidding! The knot was almost as big as the bug.
