Ebbetts Pass/Silver Creek 18 Years, 2 Months ago
Was thinking of heading up there this weekend, provided the pass is open and the waters arent raging. I know its been warm and dry all Spring so I figured it might be a good bet despite being early in the season. Anyone been up in that neck of the woods recently?

Thanks

Craig

Hey Craig, which Silver Creek are you wondering about? In my neck of the woods we have Silver Fork and Silver Creek, but I don't think either are what you are asking about...

Kinda Late but

if your goin that far also hit the Moke in hermit valley, and if you have time take the road to highlands lakes

fish the river along the road and the lakes,,,, then if you keep going on 4 you have wolf creek ,east carson ,
Markleyvile creek , west carson ,, come back on hwy. 88 and hit red lake capels creek ,,

Damm , how long you got ,, upper blue lakes ,, and more and more ,,,,,,,,its all good

I wouldnt ignore alpine lake in a float tube on the way up , or nf Stan , or beaver creek ,

Ok,, it would take me a week to get to Merkleyvile ,,no doubt

Sssshh!

Hey, you just revealed some of my favorite, but not so secret, places. I especially like the upper Moke along the road to Highland Lakes. Fun fishing for little, stupid fish. If you go all the way to the lakes, be prepared for wind, lots of wind. The fish generally are not large, but they're hungry.

Good luck.

Flows in the E. Carson are still fairly high @ >450 CFS. See http://wat...0&PARAmeter_cd=00060 for water flows. I've been told that it is hard to wade > 300 CFS.

We are heading up that way in the morning to take a look, but will probably fish our way up there. Silver Fork, Red Lake Creek, W. Carson, Blue Lakes and/or Twin and Meadow. I will try to remember to post a trip report when I get back. Probably not going to make it to Silver Creek though.

Well, I'm not Skirt, but I do know the place you're asking about. The OLD name of the bar in Markleeville was the Cutthroat Saloon. That was the one with the ladies undergarments hanging from the ceiling, yeah that one. Well, that place is long gone and has been Yuppified. It's now called the Wolf Creek Bar and Grill and is a much more "respectable" establishment. I quote Aldous Huxley: "Change does not always mean an improvement." 'Nuff said...

Cheers!

Well, there was some drama a few weeks ago about the LACK of drama here on the board. However, I'm much more an observer and I don't have the knowledge, background or involvement to know all of the details as to how and why things are the way they are. Personally, I like to post and read about fly fishing related subjects.
