Sorry to see you go. I don't think we ever met but I think you are a stand up guy with a lot to offer. Every time it looks like this place is getting back on track it keeps getting de-railed with BS posts. You are always welcome back any time.

Tight Lines,

Too bad. I was enjoying that argument they pulled the plug on. Oh well. I wasn't here for very long and I appreciate the info I got here but the way this thing is run is just weird. I won't be back.

Suckers and sharks 18 Years, 2 Months ago
I'm right behind you bones.

It seemed for a short while that the board might be catching a second wind, then I come back after a few days and people are rippin on each other because they smoke pot or drink or abstain or . . . WTF? What's next . . . religion? gambling? or???? I don't need this holier than thou crap. I came here to fish but all that's left appear to be suckers and sharks.

I've made some life long friends through this board, and I am VERY thankful it has been around, but it seems to have run its course. Pulling the profile and hanging up the "gone fishing" sign. You know how to get a hold of me.

Wild waters,
Ralph

Nature abhors a vacuum 18 Years, 2 Months ago
Remember when all the long-time members of the board participated, posting "fishing reports" and responding to those who did?
I haven't noticed many of the old time folks (I use that in a respectful way) chiming in encouragement and props for positive posts lately, or making any of their own. How many recent fishing reports have just disappeared down the list because either no one reads them or everyone just takes the information without thought of giving something back. Oh, I forgot, you've all paid your dues and now everybody owes you. I call BS!

But they sure are quick to fire back at the posters they don't like, and then complain when posts that everyone thinks SUCK (negatively) get deleted. CENSORSHIP!

I wonder why they don't join in and add to the POSITIVE side of the equation, and the crap postings will fall to the bottom and not get so loud that they have to be deleted, instead of complaining about the lack of positive content?

Credit where credit is due.
If you don't like the way the board has been going, take it back!

Great comments Buzz, good job, fantastic insight...and here I though "The Private Board" Thread was locked by the steering committee.

Not sure I understand the dynamics of someone coming on the board to tell everyone they are not going to play anymore. Yep guys I guess this board sucks. We do things like:

Raise money for people in the group that need a helping hand
Send get well cards to people that are sick
Dispatch people to help someone that needs it
Gather together to provide materials for kids learning to fly fish
Get together not only to fish but on a personal basis just to BS with friends
Yep I'd say that stuff pretty much sucks...

If you don't want any controversy go to a board that is highly monitored. If you want lots of controvery go to a board that has no monitoring. One guy is quiting because a controversal thread was removed. You just can't win!

Paul, perhaps you think you can handle these things better?
I believe the board could use your expertise in this area. Why don't you join the Steering Committee and really make a difference?

Buzz

P.S.: Why is it that you complain about posts privately to the Steering Committee and then complain publicly when they are deleted (or locked)? Just wondering...

Buzz,
I sent you a private message because this type of discussion may not be suitable on a fly fishing board.

I was on the list of ncffb folks who were given an advance ability to use and evaluate the new board format...I didn't think to much of it...maybe that's why you're on the steering committee and not I.
