The Northern California Fly Fishing Board

Took a day off work and fished the Truckee and Little Truckee today. Both rivers were in good shape and the weather was great.
Got skunked on the Truckee - not the first time and I'm sure it won't be the last.
Moved over to the LT and we managed to hook up with some very nice fish. Best was a fat brown, but some nice bows too. Saw one other group on the water at each location.

Probably fishing there next week. Where abouts were you on each river, if you don't mind my asking? Anything on top?? Thanks

We fished the Truckee along Glenshire. There were a ton of bugs in the air around noon - large (12-14) grey mayfly - but no risers . My brother did get a fish on the surface with an ant, but that was it.

For the LT we fished from the first campground up to the meadow. All the fish there were subsurface - but all were an honest 15+.

As for patterns, I'll say that everything we caught fish on was on the fishing report that we got at Mt Hardware. In fact, a nice young kid gave me a very through fishing report while I was there. And by young, I mean he wasn't old enough to drive yet.

Thanks for that info, John. We will be there toward end of next week. Weather is going to get significantly warmer. Maybe that will change things.
