3-day sierra backpack recommendation 18 Years, 2 Months ago
Hello Everyone,

I'm planning a backpack trip this mid-July and was not able to get a secured permit for the area I wanted (Yosemite high country area). I'm not in a position with my schedule to "try my luck" and do the first come, first served for the remaining permits.........So, I'm going to plan B. My GF and I are novice packers but long time FlyFishers. Looking for a trek that is fairly moderate with an emphasis on stream fishing and a little lake fishing would be fine too if it works out but not necessary. Could any of you fine folks give me a recommendation on where to go? I would be grateful.

We live in Turlock so anything Yosemite, Emigrant - even Golden Trout or Desolation would be a consideration. You can PM me if you prefer. Thanks again.

Our tradition is that of the first man who sneaked away to the creek
when the tribe did not really need fish.
