but the catching... eh...
With my wife and daughter out of the country until Friday I've been trying to fish... like, a lot... but I'm finding May to be a tricky time to fish in the foothills. On Saturday I fished the S. Fork Rubicon, Gerle Creek and a little at Gerle Reservoir. Tally = 1 nice 16" brown from Gerle Reservoir.
Sunday I fished the Silver Fork and Strawberry Creek... tally = two bows from the Silver Fork.
These little creeks are all full of snow-melt and are running high and cold and mostly pretty clear.
Today I went to Sly Park Reservoir and that finally supplied some nice numbers and some rod bending... 12 Smallies and 5 trout. Sly line, small brown wolly bugger. It was a good time. Had a couple of nice fish in the mix. Have not done a lot of this kind of fishing, but it was a real hoot.
