Simple question, I'm heading up to Bidwell Ranch tomorrow and I wanna stop and buy, ("YES BUY" because I haven't had time to tie any) light Calibeatis....Last fall I noticed a couple different colored Cali's on the water, a greyish tan and also a darker one with black mottled wings. I had good luck on the ones I had colored, but lost them that weekend, I had colored a real light one, made it's thorax and abdomen a little darker, and they seemed to smash it....instead of buying 2 or 3 different colored ones, wouldn't it be smarter to just get a few different sizes of the real light ones and then color them with markers to match the hatch? please don't hesitate to respond as I'm leaving in the A.M.
P.S. what pens seem to work the best?
Here's a photo of the one I saw at Bidwell on my arm...
