Was there this past Saturday and Sunday. Saturday was a bit windy and moved fish off into deep water- not much top water. Sunday had some fish in close to shore while the wind was calm. KD Rats worked well as did worm patterns and divers, just make sure that they are weedless. Bass were busting through the tops of the weeds chasing damsels laying eggs. Did get a chance to watch a fellow casting a variety of silicone worms in different set ups such as sinkos and drop shot rigs. They were deadly and almost took the fun out of fishing around the boat dock. One in our group removed a 7-8" long crawfish pattern out one of his bass that was just stuck in ts mouth.
A club member (possibly an annual member??) showed up with a ranger for a couple of hours on Sunday and he claimed the spawn was already over before he went out for his day on the water. I did mark a lot of fish deeper on my fish finder, like in the 6.5- 8' range hunkered right on the bottom on Saturday that would not come up.
It was great exercise.
Hope this helps.

Hey Gitt,
Kesley prohibits Senko style lures. I have, on more than a couple ocassions, taken a Senko out of a fish's throat. The fish was either trying to spit it up, or it was stuck there in it's gullet. Two of the Senkos were nasty looking, and looked like the fish had it for quite sometime. I am not the only one who has taken this type of soft bait out of a fish. I have even found a Senko bag thrown on the shore. I've mentioned it folks who I thought should know. Looks like not much has changed. If it was a member of the club, you might want to mention it to someone. Email me if you'd like more info.

Yep, there used to be a sign at the gate to the parking area.

A true trout bum is one who has commitments and responsibilities but won't give in. He doesn't run away to escape them, he just ignores them and goes fishing.......
