Lake Britton the weekend 18 Years, 3 Months ago
Had a great time at Lake Britton this weekend, Shane and I caught lots of nice fish. We bumped into the Mt. Tam guys up there too. Definately a great weekend. The smallmouth bass are gung ho into spawning right now and the fishing is easy. Crappie are just getting started. We did break out the fly rods on hat creek on the way home and managed to catch a couple trout.

Looks like you guys had great time. Joey would be all over small mouth and crappie fishing since he has not caught those yet. We kinda have a samll rule that bashes are fly-fishing only. I wonder if I should make an exception and bring the canoe? I think the small mouth will take a fly but not sure the proper crappie fly presentation . What the heck since we are not fly-fishing half the time we think we are so I guess it doesn't realy matter.

Nice Report,

Jet

Smallies are great on a fly. Crappie can be good too...small white wooly buggers will work for both. Mudler minnows can be deadly for both also. I would highly recomend it. I am not sure we are going to make it to the bash. It all depends on what is going on at our cabin. Looks like this year my brother and his family are going to be up there more which meens less time for us....if the weekend is open for us at our cabin that is where I will be.

Charlie,

You did that on purpose. You KNOW you love it!!

BT,

Looks like great fun. I spent opening day with one of my sons and his two sons. Doesn't get much better than that, I gotta tell you! Keep it up!
