Well... opening day reports anyone??? 18 Years, 3 Months ago  
I didn't get to go out... work... and besides, most of the streams around here are year-rounders. Still, I'd expect a couple of posts about the circus at Hat Creek or the first cast on the McCloud, but alas, it has not come to pass... where have all the posters gone? Long time passing... Where have all the posters gone? Long time ago...

FALL RIVER, VERY VERY FEW FISH. HOOKED A FEW. SAW 1 FISH WHEN MOTORING UP TO SPRING CREEK BRIDGE. USUALLY SEE SCHOOLS KICK OUT FROM THE SHORE LINE. NEVER SEEN THE RIVER LIKE THIS. HOPEFULLY IT WILL IMPROVE. A GREAT SETTING AND ALWAYS A PLEASURE TO BE UP THERE.

Caught fish that took flies on the surface...lost fish that took flies presented sub-surface...I will return to these places next weekend...$160 for gas (roundtrip).

This is how I spent opening day...dodger dogs did not fit into my diet plan real well but at least the Dodgers won

Except for the $160 gas bill. Mine was a $110.

I'd rant about Baum Lake, but I'm pretty sure it will not help bring it back. I swear, its like the life was sucked out of that lake. It looked almost dead.

PS. Did do well on the flat section of Hat Creek yesterday. Found a great undercut bank in the shade with nice fish sipping the surface in the early afternoon.

lips and a$$holes baby....actually I ordered the jumbo all beef dodger dog...probably the same stuff, just more of it. I will redeam myself by taking Shane fishing this weekend...we are camping at burny falls fri and sat and fishing Lake Britton for Crappies, possibly hit burney creek in the evening for trout.

I have to agree with you about LA being Hell.. I hate the place with everything I have. We flew into and stayed in Ontario, ( if LA is hell than Ontario and the rest of the "valley" is hells butthole.) I loved waking up sunday morning at 3 am to the sound of gunfire, screaching tires and helicopters flying overhead. Still love those dodgers though.

the dodgers have their own cash cow right now...Andru Jones is getting paid millions to strike out 3 times a night...last I looked he was hitting .159. Still watching Zito tank sure brings a twinkle to my eye. The giants are stuck with him and his rediculous salary for the next 5 years.

circus on hat creek... 18 Years, 3 Months ago  
It was like that early Sunday afternoon. I gave up trying to find parking in the lot, and went over to the 299 bridge park. Hiked up stream and found a nice run all to myself.
