I only fish Pyramid during my visits to the area from Florida... So, if you're interested in a "Florida Cracker's" experience, here goes....
I've rarely failed to get action at Warrior Point..... I don't use a ladder, choosing to wade out and cast or , if the wind is not too scary, using a belly boat. Recently, I've started using a Spey rod and this really has helped to get the fly out there and the length of the rod seems to help in minimizing snags when coming up over the ledges. I use an intermediate line and just wait for it to sink to where I want to fish because using the sink tip gets to be a bit more work....
I'll be trying out my own advice beginning on May 10th......

Only managed to fish for 3 hrs on Thursday down at Wino for two cookie cutters on a black bugger. Friday fished all day at Windless and did well bobber fishing a red midge. Nothing too big but plenty of fiesty 16" to 20" fish. One went around 24". Weather was very friendly but Saturday morning was ugly and i had to leave for a work problem before i got to wet a line. LOTS of people camped out and Pelican looked like a Crowley opener from my youth. Elbow to elbow! Good quick trip and thanks to those that supplied info especially Betty.

Nothing better than a strong indicator chop or rough water for lots and bigger fish.

My bad, I read "sporty" as spotty. I love to fish Pyramid in inclement weather, and in fact, have by far had my best days in rough water.

I was there last week and Pelican Bay was always good, but Windless Bay was a quieter spot that was quite productive. Spend $40 on a ladder or you will be frustrated. Fish indicator with copper johns, princes, blood midge pupa or larve when there is chop on the water. Strip wooly buggers (unweighted) or the beetles with marabou tail (polywogs? tadpoles?) when the wind is down.
