This thread sparked my interest so I did some searching on center pinning. I can see that it takes skill to be able to master the technique. It definately is not a fly fishing method. The question I have is how do you cast ?????? Do you cast like you would a spinning rod with all of that stuff hanging ? sort of lop it into the water? Looks like it would be fun to try, but not interested in getting new reel etc.

Janet,
There may be other more intricate techniques but the CP guys I've seen kind of lop-n-drop...similar to the chuck-n-duck cast used when flyfishing with several heavy nymphs and split shot...then the CP fishers simply feed line out at the same speed as the current for what seems like miles...similar to the down stream line feeding that I've seen done by folks on Fall River...
