My dad had this hanging around our house when I was growing up:

Early to bed and early to rise,
Fish like he!! and make up lies.

Or how about:

Standing in the river waving a stick (Book title?)

The funniest one I have heard Was a Paul Ferson:
" a fly rods a lot lik'a woman. If you beat onnn it and whoooop onn it isnt gunna do what you want, but if you are gentile and careees it.... oh man bud, it can be a beautiful thing" My best on trying to write it like he says it. Cracks me up every time. Read it in a deep southern accent.
