I was the fishmistress for a GWWF flyfishing trip on the Trinity River. The lack of rain is keeping the majority of steelhead down in the Lower Trinity River around Willow Creek. Tough fishing! 2 of the club members caught a couple of yearlings drifting Junction City on Thursday, while I landed 10 yearlings on Friday and my drift book partner landed 6 while drifting from Indian Creek to the last boat ramp on Steiner Flat Road. They were all tiny and so fesity. It was bad to get the hook out of them since they jumped around so much. The scenery was gorgeous.

Another club member caught about 1 dozen yearlings at steel bridge but she was using roe!!! We saw some big ones roll at Steel Bridge but there were several bait fishermen already there.

One club member have a LDR of a big one at a SteinerFlat Road campground.

Small world!!! While walking the girls early on Sat. morning down the Lewiston Trinity Dam Road, Mark (Salman) and his daughters drive by on their way to cut firewood for the season. We talked a few minutes. His wife is doing well considering she is wiped down after every chemo treatment. That's too be expected.

The food was so plentiful that we won't be cooking for a week. The company divine!

Sounds like a great trip, Loretta! Even those excursions without fish can be quite memorable.

Our tradition is that of the first man who sneaked away to the creek
when the tribe did not really need fish.
