Ah, the joys of an extreme lifestyle. Got back from Wyoming on 7/3, my last day off from work was 7/6 (most days are 10+ hours) now I'm packing for AK.
I've got my flies down to 21 medium sized boxes. I'm always a bit paranoid about running out of a successful pattern, which is pretty funny since I don't change flies enough and a lot of times it doesn't matter what I'm using...I don't catch anyhow!
My buddy and I are going to rent an RV in Anchorage for a week (the costs go down 50% after Sept. 1) and hit the Kenai Peninsula road system. We'll be targeting 'bows and silvers in the Kenai, Russian and maybe one of the rivers near Homer. (Wading all the way.)
The next week, we've got a fly-in to the west side of Kodiak Island, where we'll be dropped off with a tent, cots and electified bear fence for almost a week. (I've been told that bear sightings are an hourly occurrance. We'll have bear pepper spray, and I can run faster than my friend, especially if he's been accidentally bear pepper-sprayed

.)
We'll be fishing one of the many rivers that flow out of lakes on that side targeting silvers, although there are some medium sized 'bows there too.
The last week we'll hit the Kodiak road system for silvers and maybe an occasional chum.
Reports will be forthcoming, unless I become bear-dinner.
