AB 1806 looses in senate, 18-21 18 Years ago

I was told late this afternoon that AB 1806, the delta restoration and mitigation bill was defeated in the Senate, 18-21. Initial reports say that all of the Republican senators and a scattering of Democrats voted the measure down. Also rumored was that water contractor lobbyists spread the false rumor that the bill would drastically reduce flows south.
I'll publish more on the CSPA website when I hear more.

Thanks for fighting the good fight... I know these battles are long-term projects... years and sometimes decades in the making. What matters is that we stick with it and keep chipping away.
It's been ages since I put anything up on the Conservation page... would you want to write up something about the Delta for that?

The bill was granted reconsideration status and is scheduled for vote again on 8/18. Unfortunately, the bill's author, if successful in her Senate race this Fall (Machado's seat), may have to oppose this measure next year due to the change in her constituency.
