When I go with a group we usually leapfrog each other so we all get a chance at unfished areas. My eight year old (wow, almost nine now) has started to enjoy roll cast bobicatoring and I really want to get him up there to the NFY in the next couple weeks (months). I am trying to show him how to have a few polite words with everyone we meet along the stream that seems receptive. Like you said you might make some new friends, or at least agree to stay out of each others way.
