I was just cooking up some lunch for the guys installing my NEW heating and air conditioning system. While cooking the elk chili and getting the smoked elk sausage ready to go on the grill I got to thinking about camp cooking. I
really like to cook while out fishing, in fact, so much that I have Ed K and Carpy convinced all they have to do is the dishes afterwards...suits me!
I like to make anything from simple to complex, as long as I have enough time. Rather than the normal pork and beans from a can I like to go from scratch and bring along elk and venison chili, to make stew from various game animals I'm fortunate enough to harvest, or really fancy dishes like Elk Backstrap in a Brandy Cream Sauce or some such.
Any other camp chefs out there that like to add something of their favorites? We have our NCFFB cookbook but since it was published I have learned several new and REALLY good appetizer and main course dishes to serve up in the future, wherever I may be.
