When you visit this site you can enter your address and a map will pop up with your house as a small icon of a house. There will be red, blue and green dots surrounding your neighborhood. When you click on these dots a picture of a criminal will appear with his or her home address and the description of the crime he or she has committed...
The best thing is that you can show your children these pictures and see how close these people live to your home or school.

There were over 300 within the city and many of them living near schools/parks. Just out of curiosity I panned to a bigger city (Sac) and found well over 1000!!!! There was absolutely no place I could pan to that didn't have any! 
The numbers nationwide must be astronomical. I never knew it was that bad. I know a couple of ladies who were raped and/or molested as a child and even at our age (old fart status), it still affects their lives to a degree.
