Brian...thanks for the insight. I got a cramp at Crowley once....wind was blowing me out. That was not real fun. I guess it's only money. See you soon !!

Eric....I've got a pair of "flats boots" from Cablelas. Mine have felt soles. I use them float tubing, and for wading...I think they cost me $29.00. They have them with rubber soles as well. They're pretty light, and good for packing. You might look into those.

Thanks to everyone for all the advice...except for Jims... Gezz..a 25 hp motor on a float tube? I'd be rocketing off into space!! No way Jose.

I think a 5 hp would be more than enough.
