Here is the article. Upper half to close from Convention to Cypress...that means Bonny if you don't know anyone that will let you launch in between.

Personally, I understand the issue, but I still think it sucks.

and YOU THINK THE TRINITY WAS CROWDED LAST YEAR! 17 Years, 7 Months ago
just wait. EVERY guide, EVERY drift boat will be over on the Trinity instead. What a devastating blow to the fishery and the local tourism economy.

Too bad they couldn't get C.C. Myers to fix the bridges, he would have been done already!

Next project that comes NEAR the water needs to provide free portage around project as part of the bid. You all need to DEMAND it.

I thought they were going to leave it open for drift boats and rafts?

Trinity ??
I don't think so......

When flows on the L.S. get to 10k...it's usually May.
Then they drop to below 10k by mid-Sept....sometimes earlier.

Not much steelheading on the T during the June/July/Aug/Sept. timeframe.

Not to mention, 'they' will only close the top 4 miles of a 30+ mile stretch of GREAT summer trout fishing. I've had good fishing all the way down to Corning during the summer. Very few, if any, guides will be on the T during the 10k cfs timeframe here on the LS. There is a TON of GREAT water that isn't "Posse Grounds".

The bonus to it all ???
Those of us who have small jet boats with oar set ups will still be able to move around up there, and drift/anchor/wade all the usual spots if desired, unless they close the 'ramp', which I don't see happening.

Ramp open?? 17 Years, 7 Months ago
You probably have some inside knowledge on the subject at the Shop. Do you really think they'll leave the Convention Center ramp open? If so, what makes them think I won't just float on through anyway??

I'll be surprised if they don't close that ramp. They certainly won't throw up a physical barrier to keep you out of the trestle area. Too much chance to hang somebody up on it. I don't think they can close the ramp by aqua golf, can they?

If you happen to know the specifics of the "closure plan", please post them. Thanks.
