The Northern California Fly Fishing Board

I am a leader in a young men's group called Batallion whose goal it is to develop boys into the next generation of leaders.

We are currently working on a fishing patch (all types of fishing) and are in need of a pond or other location to take them on a trip. We really want them to be successful, so a PRODUCTIVE pond would be cool. I'm thinking that with the warmer weather the bluegill and bass action ought to be picking up in the next couple of weeks.

Does anyone have any recommendations on a place that we can take 15-20 6th throuth 12th grade guys? We are based in Modesto, but are willing to travel a bit.
We also have a modest budget to draw on if the only place available is pay to play.

That's a great concept, my suggestion would be to contact other groups in the area with experience in developing future leaders (and even fishing patches) for more information. The Greater Yosemite Council of Boy Scouts of America (located in Modesto) should be able to assist, Boy Scouts has been developing future leaders for 100 years and the local council may have information available from their Fishing Merit Badge program that includes local places to fish.
