FTIR,
Come on, the dining experience was probably the cap on a great weekend of being flyfishers for Biff and Muffy who drove to the resturant in their BMW/Saab/Rover afer a great day on the water, watching yarn indicators, wearing their brand new Orvis outfits. As they ate the trout, they discussed how much they related to Norman and his brother in that movie they saw about a river that they associate with the birth in the sport.

LOL, how bad would it be to pay $11 for a plate of hatchery trout? I don't eat trout anyway, but yuck, white meat rainbow? This chump sold (according to the record) $660 worth of meals of some hatchery pellet eating bows. What a schmuck!
Somebody get a rope.

I take it you have not fished the upper sac. It is hard to tell hatchery fish from native fish, they have a special diet for them that makes them very colorful with a nice orange flesh. Not the hatchery fish that great grandpa's like you had.

Upper Sac Hatchery Fish 17 Years, 8 Months ago

Oh, I'm going to say it is very easy to tell them apart... with the frayed fins, dull silver color and complete lack of fight... if they are hold-overs (some of the lucky 2% of hatchery fish that are said to survive each year) then they do start to look more like the residents, which makes sense since color is supposed to come from the diet. In general though, it would be pretty easy to tell... maybe it's harder when they are dead and on a dinner plate though... I'd imagine some/most of the color drops out on the dinner plate.

Don't write Dunsmuir's obituary quite yet. Besides Bob Grace's Ted Fay Fly Shop we have Chris Raine's Dunsmuir Rod Co., featuring cane rods and building them. Also some great restaurants: The Cornerstone, Sengthong's, Cafe Madelena, The Brown Trout, Railroad Park.
Some nice galleries, the Upper Sacramento River Exchange, and The Blue Sky Room. If you are in Dunsmuir fishing, drop by the Blue Sky Room for some great jazz and other music.
On the issue of sentencing Laverne Baker on't write Dunsmuir's obituary quite yet. Besides Bob Grace's Ted Fay Fly Shop we have Chris Raine's Dunsmuir Rod Co., featuring cane rods and building them. On the issue of sentencing Laverne Baker [his real name--He isn't the singer of "Jim Dandy to the Rescue" and "Jim Dandy Got Married", two great R&B songs from the 50s}. His sentence is more than even a second offense DUI. It should have been even more, but it is not a slap on the wrist. Bjorn is right, virtually no locals ate at that restaurant.
We are a little stir crazy here in Dunsmuir. 70" of snow since the first of the year, at least at our home.
