Can't fish. Can't hunt. Russian River is now at the top of it's banks (was fishable yesterday) and if we get as much rain as expected I think Guerneville could be in trouble.....again......

So I just started with 10 really large yellow onions and am making French Onion Soup for Patty for dinner. YUM!!!!

It was as good as expected. So, you're saying you would do the dishes if I would fix the soup on one of our trips??? Sounds like a deal to me....I see where Coleman now has an oven that is run by a propane bottle...that would work.

Anytime you want someone to wash dishes in exchange for eating your cooking and going on one of your trips, let me know That soup sounds delicious!

Sounds Yummy! 17 Years, 9 Months ago
But then again, I've never had anything you cooked that wasn't! We just finished off my annual batch of onion soup. I always make it right after Christmas, 'cuz that's the only time I have enough roasted prime rib bones to make the stock I like to use. Now would be a really nice time for some soup, as we're wringing ourselves out after 8+ inches of rain.

On the subject of cooking on fishing trips...check this out:

http://www.pyromid.net/

They have an oven for the pyromid...I've even made pizzas in it! (I've got the small one). These are great for camping.

Hey Charlie,

That does sound mighty good! Especially after the kind of cold wet weather we have all been having here recently.

Hey the next time Dana and I get a chance to come over to see her Mom we want to make a point to come visit you and Patty. Probably won't be until after the end of January. We have a lot of things happening this month including our 30th anniversary the last weekend in January ! Hard to believe but time does fly when you are having a grand time.

Best Wishes to you and Patty!

Bill and Dana

The house is in the middle of remodel. Patty retires in March. When the house sells, we're outta here. Estimate anywhere from April to next year, depending on market. We're in no hurry to sell below value.

Sounds excellent Charlie.
We are just finishing up some soup. Yep, plenty onions, celery, a bit of garlic (EYEtalian, ya know!), some taters that needed useing, and one very nice fresh striper fillet leavings.
Time to hit the garden for the fixings for the start of a new pot.
