Sportsmens Expo 14 Years, 7 Months ago
Anybody going? I will be there Friday. Hope to catch some seminars including Doug Neal's presentation on fishing Almanor. I have been fishing it for years....but still have much to learn.

Last year in San Mateo the fly fishing hall was so depressing I don't think I'll ever go again. Just plain sad.

That is sad. I haven't been to ISE in several years. Thank you for tempering my expectations.

What happened to the days when folks from this wonderful Board were demonstrating their tying skilsl and others were organizing a great tailgating gathering?

For that matter....what happened to the days so many wonderful people kept an active and interesting dialog going on this great Board?

Crap! I am starting to sound like an old man.

The Fly Fishing section in the Sacto show also seems to diminish each year. With parking and entrance fees, it's just not worth it. And I live here. Save it for Pleasanton in Feb.

ISE has eliminated the fly tying at their shows...sad, but true. The only thing that ISE is interested in is profit, pure and simple.

I missed seeing the fly tying demos. And its true the ISE is even more commercial than it used to be (hard to imagine!). But we still had fun. Took in a couple very good seminars (and a couple sleeper seminars). Also saw some old friends; even from my Alaska days that ended 15 years ago! Not as good as it used to be, but still a day well spent. Well worth the price of admission, especially considering they gave me 12 free tickets!
