Re:Bear River from Colfax towards Auburn. Fishing OK? 14 Years, 10 Months ago
I don't fish the Bear that often, but it can be fun. I use a three weight to make it more interesting. Any trout caught over 10" is considered a big fish.

Just recently, Didymo algae (rock snot) has been confirmed in the Bear River. After fishing, make sure to give your waders and boots (especially if they are felt soled) a thorough cleaning, so you can limit the chances of spreading it.

Bear River follows regular Sierra District rules. It will remain open until the season closes on November 15.
