The Northern California Fly Fishing Board

Hello all,

I got a thing in the mail recently (and with all the political ads going on right now it was amazing that I was able to sort it from the crap) about this place out of red bluff called eagle canyon trophy trout lakes (www.eaglecanyontrout.com). Apparently this place has just reopened to the public after being closed for the past couple years and was going by the name Mt. Lassen Trout. I was just wondering if anyone has fished these private ponds and had any intel to share. Looks like there are two lakes that could hold some monsters, but wanted to do some due diligence before I fork over my cash. Anyway, any info on this outfit would be appreciated.

I have never fished there but a fishing buddy did a number of years ago when it was part of Mt Lassen Trout. He said it was an awesome experience catching monster trout, if I remember correctly the largest was bigger than the measure on his float tube stripping apron. He also said you had to disinfect all your gear prior to fishing. He mentioned to me a couple of weeks ago that he had gotten the same mailer but it was an expensive proposition,his first trip had come via a purchase at a DU event. Again this is all second hand info.

Sounds like the same place, and yeah the price is pretty steep which is why I am still on the fence about it. If I go, I'll be sure to post a report here.
