Well Carpster...It takes two hands to handle a whopper, so I guess you're SOL!
I'm not telling a whopper or where, but let's just say, They're there and gone moving up river daily! now is the time to go because it's pretty good fishing if you know what yer doin!
Tip: Try roll casting with about two rod lengths of line out, trapping the line lightly wtht the index finger of the rod hand and High sticking egg patterns with plenty of weight to sink your presentation. Set the hook by lifting, then give him his head when he goes "palming" the reel spool on your belly sideways with the rod pointed away from the fish ever so slightly. Use your mouth to hold stripped line and beach it if you want to take it, otherwise hold the rod between your knees, Grasp the hook by the bend, invert it and allow the fish to drop back into the water untouched.
As it pours rain, I'll be tying for the Smith river Kings that We'll be after Veterans day week. Happy Harvest Dude! FRG/CB
