After a considerable amount of discussion with my Primary Care physician and the opthalmologist who checks my eyes, I have decided to go ahead and have cataract surgery. It has gotten to the point where I am marginal for driving if I have to read street signs at night, I have wear a 2.5 X magnifier to tie even # 14 flies, and I can't see a # 16 on the water more than 30 feet away.
According to all the cognoscenti, cataract surgery is one of the modern miracles. I hope it works out that way.
We start Tuesday with the right eye, which is getting a single vision mid to long range implanted lens. That will be followed by an operation on the left eye [assuming no problems], which we are planning on giving a multifocal lens.
For those of you who believe in prayer [as do I ] or who don't, but pray just in case, your prayers would be appreciated.

For the rest of you, kindly think some good thought about the result and my recovery. It needs to be relatively quick as I have to fish and roady [Mount Shasta] on the 29th Jan.
I'll let you know how it all goes if I remember - the damn thing starts at 0630, for cryin out loud.
