That's the way I've always gone when going to Ice House. What's the long way? Wentworth Springs road, east of Georgetown and then south to Ice House? I recall back in the day when W.S. road was a P.O.S., muddy, rutted and nasty. Now it's paved and a dream to drive on. Ice House road off of Hwy 50 has always been nice and paved, at least as long as I've been on it, which is pushing 20 years by now. Honestly, I haven't been there for quite a while, but I recall the road being paved to the I.H. campground and then a very decent dirt road around to the backside of the lake, where the stream flows in. Lots of planted rainbows in Ice House, a few browns, but mostly I caught them on the bottom...back in my bait dunkin' days.
