It was acouple of weeks ago now (Oct 19th) but it was pretty good. JC area.

We did pretty well last Saturday and Sunday between Junction City and Deloma fishing from shore. 15 fish between two of us. One was a wild buck over 10lbs. We kept a couple of hatchery fish to smoke. #16 Bead head flashback PTs and red copper johns and you have to fish 4x floro to the bottom fly in these conditions. Use plenty of split shot to get down 1 AB or 2 BBs. We were running 12' to the bottom fly in the hole we were fishing. It's cold in the morning (28F on Sunday) and the fish don't start biting until it warms up and and a little bug activity starts. We did not start hooking fish until the sun was on the water at 11:30 on Sunday. Of course, this pattern will change if any weather comes in. The key thing is find a nice hole that is holding fish. They will be rolling frequently if they are there. Keep moving until you find fish. You have a better chance during the week, there were lots of people on the river on the weekends. We were on our spot 1 hour before fishable light. Good luck if you go.
