Waders for those short at fat with small feet 8-) 15 Years, 10 Months ago
I am starting to explore waders. Something breathable, chest style, with socks. I already purchased my shoes locally and have been given a quote from the same local place for waders built to my size. Problem is, they are way out of my price range for now. I will call them and ask if they can offer any other brand but I think Simms was all they carried.

So, anyone else here short and plump with small feet <hehehe>.

I am 5'5", 180 pounds, 43" chest, 44 to 45" stomach, with 7 mens foot. The Simms can be made for a Large/Short and then get special size socks for 7-8. They come in at $349 + tax. I just don't have that much in the budget to do that now.

I do see a few other brands than may work that come with a 7-9 boot sock and 43" chest with short legs but prefer to buy local if I can rather than mail order.

Anyone know any other options locally?

I will give my local place a call and see if they can special order some other brand that could work but I wanted to check here also as I think I asked them already when I was there and they said they just carried the Simms. I am getting old so I forget. I go into lala land when in their shop as they have so many nice things I am dreaming about buying from them as I save my pennies.

Thanks

tj

Check some of the Cabela's waders in the stout sizes...they might work but I'm not sure. It's the pits to be an odd size in today's regular world.

Shoot me a PM. I think I might have a solution for you. I have a brand new pair of Patagonia Women's Watermaster waders in a size "Large Full". If your feet are not too wide (like mine are), they may fit you. Patagonia list sizing as follows: Chest 42-45; Inseam 31-31; Shoe Size 8-10 (Womens, which I believe translates into 6-8 Men's). They look identical to the men's versions, so nobody but you will know you're wearing a women's model.

Your waders have buttons?

Aren't those button flies on the newer waders?
