Crooked River Report 15 Years, 11 Months ago
Hit the Crooked River east of Bend with my brother and good friend Terry today. What a lot of fun. I got many, many fish in the 20+ inch range, if you line up four or five of them together. Lots of 5-10 inch fish, and all were very willing on Baetis patterns and PMD's, and for a brief period, Mahoganies and Caddis. Lunker of the day was probably 12", maybe 13. Had a nice dinner back at Sunriver with a couple of good wines, some Costco steelhead filets and a whole lot of exagerrating as to our catches earlier.

This was Eric's first trip to Sunriver and the Crooked, and he had a great time tempting those little and willing rainbows on baetis patterns using a rod Charlie built for him a few years ago. The ear to ear grins said it all.

Tomorrow we bring our fly fishing expertise back to earth with a trip to Hosmer, and likely a lot of frustration with those big brookies, and maybe a few Atlantics. Report to follow.
