I was just on Albright's site, they are having that end of year sale again...they have huge discounts..like up to 80% off...Lou Tabory is now a part of Albright, and the company has become a much bigger respected player...I got their XX Rod and GPX reel this past Spring, and loved it..just thought I'd share...www.albrightflyfish.com

Although I like my XX rod the GPX reel was a disappointment when it got wet. The drag failed miserably and I had to change my line to a different reel when I was steelhead fishing. As long as you can keep it dry it's OK but when wet the carbon fiber drag (or whatever it is) is not sealed and it became loud and jerky.

The Albright stuff is really a pretty outstanding value. I just got one of their rods, $80 for an 8/9. That same rod is now $60, frigging incredible deal. Their 80% off thing is a bit like walking into a furniture store and seeing 50% off, but that 50% off is a price that no one has ever paid... it's marketing. The current sale they have going on is really 25% off. They have very low prices to begin with.

I've seen the 80% sale mentioned other places. It's a good deal and might be 80% less than you'd pay for similar gear other places, but it isn't 80% off their normal prices.

put the final nails in the coffin of several fly shops. I don't care how cheap something is by buying direct.I won't buy it. Albright cant sell me flyting materials or provide free info on how to tie those flys.
