Bear River - any fish? 14 Years, 1 Month ago  
I went to the Bear River (Bear River campgound) today (NE Auburn), above Meadow Vista and tried some stream fishing today. The water was high and a little cloudy. Did not catch a thing, or even get a strike. Tried all sorts of different flies. Lots of may flies and caddis on the river.

In talking to the people (gold panners) on the river, many thought there were no trout in the river.

Are there any trout in the Bear River?

Yes, there are rainbows, smallmouths and (reportedly) some large browns as well.
