everything we had heard about Sockeye not biting was wrong as they will bite and
very aggresively , just for the hell of it I dangeled a big pink bunny leach in
front of a school of these Salmon and sure enough one jumped up and grabbed it so
it was fish after fish till we just got tired of catching them .
We never could hook any of the bows we heard about but then we didn't use the beads
that day and I guess the bows and Dollies were keyed in on those.
The next day we found ourselves on the Anker river looking for Silvers and Steelhead
and what we found were small dollies and one silver,
Vince again with the hot rod took this silver with a spinner

and a bunch of these small dollies

I on the other hand stuck with the fly rod and a smolt pattern for a few, fun but
not the #s Vince took with the spinner . Great weather that day but poured over night
and blew that little river out so we headed back up the coast to Deep Creek to see if
it was in better shape...it was. We fished right at the mouth in a line up of other
guys all tossing a spinner with fresh silvers being caught on both sides of us but
none for us...the scenery was great though , sunset across the Cook Inlet

We fished further up the creek the next day still looking for the silvers, we found
a great run and fished it hard ...Zip and walk on to the next one were Vince did
hook into a nice Steelhead but it came undone in short order, on the way back down
we ran into this guy with a nice fish out the run we left hhhmmm
