I guess there will not be much in this report you could not find on one of the fishing report sites, but I did have a great time on the L. Yuba the other day. Fished upstream of the bridge for the first time in about 10 years and had a fun couple hours. Picked up three pretty quick on a caddis pupa pattern (dink, kinda dink, and nice 16" beauty). Either the nymphing or my effort shut down for an hour or so, but I was rewarded with one nice and one very nice fish by staying for the late (and I mean late) caddis hatch. Tried to horse a beauty that jumped 4 or 5 times one on my 4x, but was reminded that Y fish are some of the hardest fighters around (hope that x-caddis fell off quickly). Anyway, a few PMDs around 7:30 and Caddis around 8:00. It was a hot day, so maybe the hatch will start earlier on cooler evenings. Yuba used to be an automatic for me, but it's been tough since the floods and I'm glad to get re-acquainted with some of its locals.
