After the rains, the fish were definitely on the move. I'd never seen so many rolling, but they had nookie on their minds, not eating. Can't say I blame 'em.
No one knows if the fishing will pick up, but there sure were a lot of guys out there on Friday. Some boats reported good hookups, others not. If you do decide to go, just remember that this ain't 2006 or 2007, and you'll have to work hard for anything you may hook into.
I lost one on Friday when it tangled me on a submerged tree root. I waded out to him, but he got off just as I reached the root. I did manage to pull a birds nest of mono off of the root and retrieved 5 flies. Frankly, I'd rather have landed the fish, but I did okay with this run, so I can't complain.
