In addition to the book already mentioned, get Bill Sunderland's California Blue Ribbon Trout Streams and if you are into lake fishing, try Mr. Sunderland's book Fly Fishing California Stillwaters. Best bet is to locate a local fly club in the Redding area. The wealth of readily available information from a group of like thinkers far exceeds any books out there for garnering information on local waters.
