Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours.

Something to look forward to in the new year...Steelhead season begins on the North Coast Rivers as soon as the streams clear from the latest storms. Regardless of flows, I'll be on one of those rivers for my annual New Year's Day break-in of the new fishing license...if you see a kindly grey-haired grandfather looking guy casting shooting heads with a 6 oz bamboo rod, say hello.

Best wishes to you and yours. S.Fork Eel is high and will probably get higher with rain due in on Christmas day. Won't be fishable til next year, at least here on the Ave. of the Giants. A great year for Toyon and Mushrooms here. This story today in the Eureka paper.
