That's really great Andrew. Shared time like that just can't be replaced with anything else. Glad you had the chance to go out with your Dad and catch some fish too.

What Carpy and Charlie said.

I still remember hand lining for flounders and cane poles for smelt with my Dad, and am always trying to get Ned and Mike out with me.

Do it!!

The Hounds 14 Years, 9 Months ago
Hey Ed

were you over at Casa de Fruta with the Hounds this weekend? I quickly passed an ad which said they were playing at the annual Fair.

Ed

Pat & I are still in Salinas and I am happily retired. People told me I would miss it but would love retirement. They were 50% right......I love retirement. It's nice to have the time to do all the little things i need to (paint the fence, do some wood working projects, build 2 rock sitting walls, etc) and then go fishing whenever I want in the middle of the week. My neighbor has a bass boat and invites me out on occasion. I've been on trips to the USac/LSac and the T. oh yeah Pat & I just got back from 8 days in Maui (my retirement trip).

How about yourself? In exploring FF sites on the internet, I saw where you and Charlie S were going back to a BASH type get together (in Colorado??). How did that go? Sounded like a fun time with a lot of new faces.

Hope you and the Hounds did well. How long is the Fair on for (I hate it because of what it does to Pacheo Pass traffic)?

John,

re: Ren Faire - I think it has three more weeks to go. Last weekend was the only Hounds gig there. Good crowd, lots of appreciation.

I am doing about the same. Taking every chance to fish that I get. The trip with Charlie was fattening, and the fishing was good. The end game was a Bash like get together called The Gathering of The Clan [Celtic Clan, thank you] Run mostly off the GOTC Board www.flyanglers.org . We run a raffle, silent auction and live auction in support of Project Healing Waters. We also fish a bit and drink a bit.... Bash-like, eh??

WE managed about $3300 this year, led by Charlie S donating four fly rods. They WERE the hit of the gig.

If the Big Sur and Carmel ever open this year, we should give them a whack.
