Striped Bass Need Your Help NOW!
Come to the Northern Calif. Council FFF
BBQ & Festival in Placerville
The survival of our striped bass is threatened by a lawsuit – The Coalition for a Sustainable Delta (CSD) has filed suit against the Department of Fish and Game (DFG) requesting that striped bass be taken off the game fish list, and all limits on size or numbers removed. The Coalition for a Sustainable Delta is an organization formed by big water users in the southern San Joaquin valley. They want to get more Delta water by eliminating the fishery restrictions. NCCFFF, Calif. Striped Bass Assn., Striperfest, and CSPA are defendants in this case, supporting the targeted DFG.
Our event in Placerville, October 2nd, will be a fun day of fly tying, casting, fishing instruction and general fun. In the evening we will be holding a special BBQ dinner and a raffle/auction of a limited number of items. The focus of this event is to help raise money to help pay the costs of attorneys for the lawsuit, and other associated council expenses. We need the entire angling community to contribute. Come up for the day, attend the BBQ, and help us save the striped bass fishery.
Go to
www.nccfff.org for all the information on what is happening. We are not holding our traditional Festival of Fly Fishing (Conclave) this year. This event is the 2010 Festival. We are working with the El Dorado Fairgrounds, sponsors of the entire weekend's Sportsman’s Outdoor Expo.
Please – This is the time we need all of you to support one of California’s great fisheries. Register for the event, buy a dinner ticket (only $30.00) and bring a friend! STRIPERS NEED OUR SUPPORT!
