Washington Steelies 15 Years, 2 Months ago
Last Fall The Grande Ronde and Methow river had great returns of Steelhead in Washington. Both rivers are great destination trips with little disappointment. The Grande Ronde has the nick name Little Deschutes. It is a beautiful river with great swing fishing and good dry fly steelhead action. Both rivers are beautiful and have easy access to local airports for the out of town traveler. I fish the Methow after the Grande Ronde. The fishing pressure slows a little more and there is more fish. Both rivers have great fly water. They also have some trout too. If you have never head of them check them out.

I've fished them and thoroughly enjoyed them. Can't wait to move to the Spokane area so I can really hit there, the Clearwater system and others.

Yeah I am sure that all the Wa and Oregon fisherman are tickled pink about seeing a bunch of California liscence plates on those rivers. They are already being overrun by people from Idaho and Montana. Believe me if somebody is serious about Steelhead they have already heard of those rivers.

Charlie,

Make you a deal. You come to my house and we'll fish Crane, I come to yours for the Grande Ronde.

Sounds like a deal but where is Crane? I'm a river guy and the only rivers I have fished in Nor cal are the Trinity, Klamath and a few creeks. I really liked the area, late october we were fishing in t-shirts one day, hard to get that in WA.

Cool, this year it looks like we will be there from Monday until mid Sept. and then back for hunting season. I will be going to Florida the end of June for 3 weeks for the birth of my grandbaby.

Jan,

Claudia & I will be up there between July 21st and August 4th. Let's get together if possible, your place or ours (condo in West). Does XXX-XXX-4109 still work?
