I know you CHP guys have a hard job and have to prioritize the crimes, but if I go fishing Jan. 1st without a new license, I'm in violation. The DFG doesn't give me any slack. They throw the book at me. Those drivers get a notice in the mail just like I do, they have no excuse. If I can't get my junk together before the expiration date, I need to take a day off work and take care of it. That is where this whole thing goes back to. There are some people who will abide by the law and buy a fishing license, and there are some that won't. Proudly displaying it above the waist so I can lose 1-4 in a year to blowing off, getting torn off in the brush, lost in some dark gear bag for two years..., was just a tool to get a law-abider to pay MORE than his share for a license. I'm glad that regulation is off the books.

I can show you the High resolution pics that show JAN 2010, not June, I didn't even chase down the questionable ones. Those pics are 3 MB, I didn't want to post them.

I just sat in the #2 or #3 lane and let them pass me, I just drive 65mph cruise control and let these scofflaws buzz by, then I hunt them down like a shark. Sooner or later the traffic will let me catch back up and I can get a picture.

It is a game I play with myself while driving, I watch my mirrors while driving down the freeway and gamble whether the car coming behind me is expired or not, or... if driving north/south on I-5, what state they are from based on how fast they drive (Oregon, Washington and the British Columbia drivers speed the most drive right up behind you at 85/90, lock up the brakes then flash the high beams at you, CA drivers weave the traffic more, Nevada Drivers are just plain NUTS)

Whoa, I'm not a cop. You may be thinking of Road Dog? Anyway, next time you're in the DMV ask how long it takes to get your tags in the mail. I think they'll tell you 4-6 weeks and that's if you pay for them at the DMV. If you send them a check you can add to that the time it takes to get to the DMV which could add another week to it. So, even if they "got their junk together" and paid it 5 weeks before they expired there's still a chance that they haven't received them yet. I think it might be a little early to hang the Feb's.(or the Jan's for that matter) Also, how could you tell that those folks had expired registration? If we didn't have to display our tags on our plates would you have been able to tell whether or not any of those cars were out of date? That's actually the point I've been debating with you. You mentioned that displaying tags doesn't keep anyone from driving without them and I think that's untrue. You won't find many cars out there with tags that are over a few months old. Throw out the Jan's and Feb's of 2010 and how many did you find? Why did you find Jan's and Feb's of 2010 but almost no Dec, Nov, Oct of 2009? (I think I saw a pic of one of each, maybe 2 Dec)Are there more lazy people with Jan and Feb tags or has it been long enough that the Dec and Nov's have gotten their tags? I wonder how many Jan's and Feb's you'll be able to find the middle of next month? I'm guessing you won't find many but I bet you'll see some March tags that are a few weeks out of date. See how many over 6 months old you see tomorrow. I'm guessing not many. The cops get them eventually. They can pull them over for no tags and if they have no licence they can get them off the road. If we didn't have to display our tags it would be out of control and there would be almost nothing the cops could do about it. I didn't like the displayed fishing license law either but there's no doubt it helped even if it was only a little. 6 months from now you'll be bitching about poachers even though you were against something that helped the DFG fight it. I didn't like it either but it was a small price to pay. If you know someone that tried to get that law overturned tell him to STFU for me next time he whines about the DFG.

I walked into the DMV and picked up my tags over the counter back in January for my Suburban, my minivan expired back in November 13th, I mailed my check on Nov 1st, I had my tags the next week, before they expired. They send me a notice 10 weeks in advance. Plenty of time to send it in. People just procrastinate. I think the DMV runs BETTER with furlow Fridays. A person could rightly assume that 1/2 of the March 2010 tags are expired, I could see why the CHP doesn't waste time chasing them down, but there is no excuse for a January or older.

I bought my Warden Stamp this year, I hope everyone else does.

Well I'll be damned, I hadn't heard of that, thank you. I'll pick up a few on the way home tomorrow. I've always wondered if they could or would ever do something like that. I hope the amount raised will be made public. Not because I don't trust them but so people can see how much of a difference they can make. Being the cynic that I am though I can't help but wonder how many years it will be before the sticker money ends up in the general fund.

Brian, don't you think taking all those photos is a little over the top? You've made your point.

I was going to ask which hospital to send you flowers. Your taking photos while driving is probably even more dangerous than cell phoning or texting. If someone saw you taking their picture down in the Bay Area you might even get shot.

See you at the Bash?

Laughs.... The Feb 2010's are only expired by 2 weeks, my guess is they're getting taken car of. In one of the pics you mention that a CHP passes a Feb 2010 and didn't pull him over. That's because they give a month or 2 leeway because most of those are in the mail. I also have a feeling your Jan 2010's could be Jun's, I almost got fooled by some of those today myself. I guess we'll just have to take your word on most of those, I can't even see them. The 2009's are the only really legit ones you have if you ask me but if you want to include the folks that are waiting for theirs in the mail fine. You may even have 30 or more too, I didn't count. I only saw 3 on the way home today. One Nov 2009, Jun 2009 and Feb 2010. I was able to tell these folks didn't have tags because we're required to have tags displayed on our plates so I could see they didn't have theirs. I'm curious, how could you tell the folks you found didn't have current tags? it

Thats absolute horseshit I was pulled over and issued a fix it ticket in rohnert park 3 years ago and my tags were only expired for one week. As far as the fishing liscence thing goes. Its about time the game wardens get off their lazy arses and do their
jobs. I get checked all the time by game wardens for my liscence that my hooks are barbless etc. And there are even less gsme wardens in Wa than Ca.

I'll probably be at the Bash. It depend on if I have to help my mom move that weekend or not. I won't know until the date gets closer.

I just don't like people calling me a liar ( or exaggerator) . I thought I over-proved my point too, but Beerchaser doesn't. Maybe he had too many beers. Beerchaser has always had a hard-on for me though. maybe he likes 'em BIG.

Maybe he needs to change his name to BEARCHASER:
definition from the gay urban dictionary:

bear: 1. Noun. heavy-set man. large hairy male 2.hairy male. 3. [1972] sex as a compelling habit. [I need to feed the bear.] Synonyms. the big beast. 4. [early1980s] hairy, men. a man, usually somewhat stouter than the average man, who is possessed of particularly more body hair than most men. 5. bearded men, a man, usually somewhat stouter than the average man, with or without body hair.

Damn! 15 Years, 3 Months ago
We might not get a lot of reports here on the ol' NCFFB nowadays, but this has got to be the best multi-picture "report" I've seen here for a while. Tag fishing? Why not?

Cheers!

You have to post pictures of something...if you post actual fish pictures you get flamed for pillaging the streams.
