All good info, thanks! I stopped by RC Merchantile last summer. It is a just one big room, if I recall correctly, meaning an open design to the shop. I was surprised by the amount of folks hanging out mid day. I'll be sure to support them on my next trip out there- next September. Iranian, huh? I stopped by the RC Tavern for gas on my way back from Philipsburg. They got me at the pumps, but that's the price you pay for convenience, stupidity and no gas in rental car. I was surprised that the tavern had every seat at the bar filled, most of the folks were pleasant and still possessed their own teeth. But then again, it was still early. RC itself was very pleasant, if not a joy, to wet wade in 107 degree weather while the wife read her book in the car/sauna. The commute traffic on 90 was amazing and something that I have yet to see out here.

As for Rock Creek Rd, the only bad part is where the road gains some elevation and veers to the left pretty sharp, as in a blind narrow turn. But that is pretty high up in the drainage. Thanks again for posting all the info on this area.

Yeah it is a small place, but it is a social center. Has a great fly selection and the owner is good about giving out helpful info.

The road quality is dependent on the plowing or grading schedule. With rain or snow it can get pretty hairy, depending on time of year. They don't grade it regularly in the summer so it can get pretty rutty, particularly after a shower.

That corner is right where the microburst was. Pretty wild how that killed all those trees. There is a plaque on the upstream side of that corner/hill that gives an explanation of what happened.

Anytime Andrew. I was trying my hand at locker room banter/humor combined with sleep deprivation and nothing more. I don't know what way you roll and don't really care, so please don't take offense. Actually, I was kinda fond of the feller in the tutu. Now if he owned property on Rock Creek, how would I explain that to the wife? Sheesh, you don't have to fight over him, there is plenty of others just as attractive. Peruse the sight a bit, you might find a relative.

And besides the other(earlier) link in the thread is much more interesting no matter which side of the plate you swing from. Better hurry before the Mods delete it.

This IS NOT good news at all. Thanks for bringing this to our attention. That's one great stream, would be a tragedy to see it harmed.
