The Northern California Fly Fishing Board

So on Father's Day, i found myself up near Jackson Meadow without my fly rod! Heading east from the lake, towards hwy 89, i saw an incredible meadow with a stream that screamed trout.

Does anyone know if this is part of the Little Truckee?

Although there was a barbed wire fence just off of the road, it didn't look like private property. No signs posted. anybody know if this is public land? I find it odd that there was absolutely no one fishing it.

I'll go up there again, armed with fly rod next time. thought it'd be good to get a heads up first.

The meadow is Perazzo Meadow.The Little Truckee here looks good but doesn't hold many fish.It gets too low and warm later in the summer.After the flood of '97 the LT sustained damage that has not been dealt with yet.TU and another organization are trying to secure funding for a rehab project to restore this section of river.Before the flood there were large brown and rainbows.Still a large brown here and there.
