The Northern California Fly Fishing Board

I'll be heading to the Upper Sac (camping at Cascle Crags) Monday. Possibly bringing a youngster (27) along with me. Plan on meeting with Btrout while I'm up there too. I'd hoped to bring along a box of swap flies, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen. Its not that I'm short of flies, as i have more time to tie than fish these days, but I would have liked to include them in my report when I get home. Might try some new water while i'm up there too. I just talked to Upper Sac guide, Rick Fox, a few hours ago. He told me that the Green Drake hatch is on right now. You are timing it just right. Enjoy your trip.

drakes on some days, as well as goldens, pinks in the evenings. but today I fished the mid river and there was nothing hatching, and nothing rising. but I stilled managed to land a dozen or so on a #12 adams in 3hrs. I love those kind of days
