cant the board software be fixed or go back to the old software ?

I am having some trouble too . It appears the size of my file and/or number of pictures may be to large. I am going to try again tomorrow when I am fresher. Great seeing you and everybody up there this weekend!

Guys, we are working on an upgrade (I was working on it until midnight last night, as was Dustin R.).

In the mean time, please, use the "PREVIEW" button to check your post BEFORE you click "SUBMIT". If the preview shows a red X, your post will get the white screen of death (WSOD). Edit the post a bit and try PREVIEW again until you get a clean post, THEN click SUBMIT.

Again, we are working diligently to get this thing working properly, but it ain't as easy as it might seem to you for reasons that I can't explain...

Screw it, go back to the original NCFFB format...it always worked.

While I agree with you UC, the lack of action to resolve the problems with the "existing" software for the past <fill in the blank with an appropriate number> months (in excess of 10)appears to indicate that they (they are always the enemy) cannot, unable, or unwilling to go back to the original (or last) NCFFB fromat.

So, to offer a reasonable alternative, perhaps the NCFFB can migrate to another format, one that works, like maybe one that's used by the secret-privileged accepted leaders of the special NCFFB! any format may be better than this one that the finest (unpaid, and not even worth that) IT contibuters are unable to fix.

Come the 5th of November a barrel or two under the server through which this poor collection of ones and zeros travels would only improve the this morgue bored.

Sometimes when you spend a great deal of time trying to fix something that isn't working like you had hoped, it can be easy to overlook things that should have been considered at the very beginning. Like whether or not it's even a good idea to begin with. It can also be difficult to give up on something after you've worked so hard on it and spent so much time trying to make it work. It feels like if you give up on an idea after all that work, that all that time has been wasted. It's easy to lose sight of whether or not it's even worth the work that you've already put into it, let alone whether or not it's worth even more effort. A lot of the time it's best to just bust the thing in half and start over from scratch. That works every time. The time you spent on the first attempts isn't wasted as long as it leads to something that works the way you want it. But if you sit there spinning your wheels trying to tweak something that is obviously a lost cause then that's when you begin wasting your time and effort.

Unfortunately for all of us (users AND admins), there is more to the story that makes it oh so much more complicated.
Can't go into details, but we ARE working on a solution, more actively now than ever.

If you need money to start a NEW board I'm sure many of us would be willing to financially support you, especially those of us who are computer incompetent.

have you and Greg considered using the software that the Kiene Fly Board does? It seems to load faster than this format.
And yes we all should say thank you for your efforts.

We have a good solution to turn to that is faster, and which won't give the WSOD. The challenge is getting it installed. More simple to us novices than it seems. The Board needs to be upgraded, and the forum software upgraded/replaced. The software currently used by the Forum is no longer supported, but a very good replacement is available. It is similar to Kiene's Board. It does not support the Threaded view, only the Flat view, similar to most Fly Fishing Boards out there. But my guess, and vote, most Board members would gladly trade Threaded view for elimination of the WSOD.

We'd welcome comments on this last point.
